FAQ

Common questions

1. What is the best time to visit Shimla and Manali?

Answer: The best time depends on what you want to experience: March to June (Summer): Ideal for pleasant weather, sightseeing, and escaping the heat of the plains. December to February (Winter): Perfect for witnessing snowfall, snow sports, and a cozy winter landscape. September to November (Autumn): Great for clear mountain views, apple harvesting season, and peaceful travel with fewer crowds.

2. How many days are required for a Shimla and Manali trip?

Answer: An ideal itinerary takes 6 to 8 days. This gives you enough time to comfortably explore Shimla (Mall Road, Kufri) and Manali (Solang Valley, Old Manali, Hidimba Temple) without feeling rushed.

3. How do we travel between Shimla and Manali?

Answer: The distance between Shimla and Manali is approximately 230 km, and the scenic road journey takes about 6 to 7 hours. Private cabs, tempo travellers, or Himachal Tourism Volvo buses are the most convenient and popular options.

4. Is a special permit required to visit Rohtang Pass?

Answer: Yes, vehicles traveling to Rohtang Pass require a pre-booked National Green Tribunal (NGT) permit, as the number of vehicles allowed per day is restricted. Alternatively, Solang Valley offers plenty of snow and adventure activities and does not require a special permit.

5. What kind of clothes should we pack?

Summer/Autumn: Light woolens or jackets for chilly evenings, alongside comfortable walking shoes. Winter: Heavy woolens, thermals, waterproof jackets, gloves, caps, and snow boots, as temperatures can drop below freezing.

6. Are meals and sightseeing included in the package?

Answer: Inclusions depend on the specific package you select. Typically, standard packages include accommodation, breakfast and dinner, and dedicated private or shared transportation for all sightseeing mentioned in the itinerary. Check the specific "Inclusions" tab for full details.
